UNIQLO Opens Largest Store to Date in Singapore at Bugis+

UNIQLO, Japan’s No. 1 Casual Wear Brand, continues to expand its presence in Singapore with the upcoming opening of its’ largest store to date. The UNIQLO store in Bugis+, formerly known as Iluma, will open its doors to the public on June 8, 2012.

Located in connecting units at Level 1 and 2, this latest UNIQLO outlet is a double-storey that spans an area of approximately 20,000 square feet with an in-store escalator that joins the two levels. Following the recent success of the Parkway Parade opening where 450 customers queued up early on before the store opened, UNIQLO Bugis+ will be the brand’s 7th store and its first street-level shop in Singapore.


Currently undergoing asset enhancement work, tenants at Level 1 and 2 consisting of various brands, including UNIQLO, are expected to begin trading in June this year. Iluma is right across Bugis Junction, another go-to shopping locale in the area, and is connected via a link bridge.

UT collections such as UT Grand Prix Coca Cola, Metal Gear 25th Anniversary tees, Mobile Suit Gundam graphic tee, Barbie and special UT 10th Anniversary tees will be launched in conjunction with UNIQLO opening in Bugis+. With a larger floor space and an exciting selection of the brand’s casual wear staples, UNIQLO Bugis+ is certainly set to be a go-to destination for the area’s shopping crowd.

1. UNIQLO and Orla Kiely Renews Collaboration For Another Season


London-based designer Orla Kiely and global apparel company UNIQLO are to renew their
collaboration for another season. Orla Kiely collaborated with UNIQLO for Spring/ Summer 2012 to
create a range of clothing that showcases her classic and colourful prints, which Uniqlo sold in their
international and Japan stores (over 1,000 stores globally).

Orla Kiely prints combined with the UNIQLO attention to quality materials and affordability has
received wide acceptance from customers everywhere and led to the great success for the collection.
The collaboration demonstrates the unique relationship between Japan and Britain, where British
design talent can work together with a world leader in retail and deliver cool and affordable products
to a global audience. The partnership also reinforces that the creative industry can contribute to
export earnings by finding innovative and popular cool brands to work with.

UNIQLO collaborates with a number of designers throughout the year, and the fact that we have
agreed to renew the collaborative partnership with Orla Kiely shows that the unique language of
pattern and colour for which Orla is famous for has garnered worldwide appeal.
“I love the Japanese aesthetic and it has been great collaborating with such a popular and cool brand,” --- Orla Kiely, OBE.

UNIQLO launching UU collection for Spring/Summer 2012

UNIQLO will be launching the second batch of UU collection for Spring/Summer 2012, its second collaboration with acclaimed fashion designer Jun Takahashi and his Undercover label. The new batch from the collection, features the anticipated debut of the babywear range and an expanded lineup of T-shirts and shorts, will go on sale in Japan from Monday, April 16 and in Singapore on April 20, 2012.


UNIQLO has lined up 48 items of apparel for men, women, children and babies for the launch of its second UUcollection. The expanded lineup of early summer apparel for men, women and children features graphic T-shirts and shorts. Undercover has lent its unique design aesthetic to the distinctive UU logo and animal patterns on the printed T-shirts. Matching patterns are available for men, women and children, so parents can have fun coordinating their children’s outfits.

313@Somerset Holographic Fashion Show

I was recently down at 313@Somerset for a little fashion show. It's not your usual models strutting their stuffs on runways, it's more of a peek into what happens when a girl is in the fitting room!


This is a highlight of 313@Somerset's 6 weeks FASHION+ campaign, called FASHION+REVEAL. It showcases the three-dimensional image of a model from 10am to 11pm daily  (Tired work eh? Imaging wearing and taking off clothes all day!) in a specially constructed black box along the Discovery walk at Level 1.

Check out how to mix and match your clothes and accessories! Clothes featured are from Zara, Uniqlo, Mango, Cotton On, Espirit, Forever 21, New Look and many more.....

It's just right outside Marché. Spot these little dots on the floor if you are coming in from Coffee Club, they will lead you there.

On weekends, there will be a little lucky draw session, answer a few questions and stand to win vouchers for your shopping trip at 313@Somerset.



And when in the mall, look out for the FASHION+DISPLAYS. They showcase some of fashion forward clothings from the stores located in 313. Shoppers enjoy a 30% discount on all items that are featured and OCBC cardmembers get an additional 5% more!
