Singapore Restaurant Week 2012

Hi Huneybees,

Are you ready for the Singapore Restaurant Week? Yes! It's back for the 4th time and this time, DiningCity.com is partnering with an impressive list of more than 90 restaurants where diners can look forward to indulging at during the week-long gastronomic affair. New exciting restaurants participating for the first time include Kumo Japanese Kaiseki, Enoteca L'Operetta, Punjab Grill, Salta, Si Chuan Dou Hua, Spring Ju Chun Yuan, Taratata Bistro and Zaffron.

Popular favourites from previous editions such as Au Jardin, B@Rochester, Bistro Du Vin, Buyan Russian Haute Cuisine & Caviar Bar, Fine Palate Cafe, Garibaldi, KU DE TA, Le Saint Julien, OSO, Salt, The Moluccas Room and Novus Restaurant; will definitely also be participating.

Once again, America Express is presenting this bi-annual gourmet event which drew 30,000 reservations in October 2011. Ms Yoshimi Nakajima, Singapore Country Manager of American Express said: "The last Singapore Restaurant Week event had been another great success with American Express Cardmembers - more that half of the 30,000 total reservations were snapped up. American Express is proud to be the presenting partner for this edition which promises to be an even more exciting event of unique culinary experiences for our cardmembers."

Ms Yoshimi Nakajima, herself on stage.
Before the countdown begin, we were treated to Canapes from 4 restaurants - OSO, Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant, Keystone Restaurant & Au Jardin.

Diego Chiarini from OSO, Zeng Feng from Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant, Mark Richards from Keystone Restaurant and Ng Wei Han from Au Jardin.

Check out the crowd!
When I arrived at Avalon, I was already greeted by Chef Diego Chiarini with his crunchy treat. It's a great appetizer!

More from OSO was also the sweet tasting Mozarella Tomato Basil Sabayon served in Egg Shell,

Representing dishes from Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant was the Beancurd Cube and a dish that had cucumber wrapped in sliced pork topped with a spicy tangy sauce.

Truffle Crumbled Scallop by Keystone Restaurant.

These are to die for! The scallop was cooked to the  right tenderness and the caviar totally worked with it. If not for my image, I might have asked for the whole tray!
Au Jardin had Angus Beef Tartar and Cornet of Mud Crab Salad with d'Aquitaine Caviar and Coconut Gelee. I'm not a big fan of the Beef Tartar, but the Mud Crab Salad was refreshing and delectable. See the little cone holding the salad? It's thin and crunchy totally married with the salad perfectly!

After some mingling and "food tasting", our attention was directed to this wonderful tea making performance.

Managing Director of DiningCity.com Singapore,  Desi Wentink was served a cup of tea before she went on stage to address to the guests.

There was a little prize ceremony and announcement of the winner for the Amsterdam Dining Week trip.

Afterwhich, it was the much awaited countdown to the launch of the website for registrations for Singapore Dining Week. *Champagne Shower*
