JCube IMAX Experience

Hi Huneybees,

Woohoo! Not only JCube is a shopping paradise, they are also famous for its facilities. Other than the huge Skating Ice Rink, the JCube IMAX Theatre is another experience you must go for!

The cinema's just above the Skating Ice Rink.
I watched The Amazing Spiderman that day and I'm loving it! I watched the 2 movie twice and both times are at the Shaw IMAX Theatres. What makes the IMAX theatres different from the other 3D cinemas is the concave shaped screen that they call it the IMAX Theatre geometry. It is to maximize the depth of field and make you feel like you are totally in the movie.

Review of The Amazing Spiderman can be found here.

Shaw Theatres JCube opened on 5 April 2012 with 7 screens, including an IMAX theatre, bringing Hollywood blockbusters and quality entertainment right to the doorsteps of residents in the west of Singapore.

One thing I fear when watching a 3D movie is the distance between the screen and the seats. I remember once, I watched at another theatre and the distance between the first row of seats and the screen was super tight. I vomited bad after the movie.

But, for the IMAX Theatre, there is already like a huge distance from the screen. So even when I'm sitting on the 4th row, I'm watching the movie with comfort. Their 3D glasses are also amazing. I have to wear my glasses below the 3D glasses and most of the time I have to hold and support the 3D glasses but for the IMAX ones, my hands are free to eat popcorn! Yipee!!

IMAX Theatres are my first choice for movies enjoyment, go give it a try if you havn't. :)

Hehehe... I had my red contacts on and I can't stop wanting to take a photo with Vampire Bella Swan.

Mirror Mirror On The Wall, Who's The Fairest Of Them All?

Hi Huneybees,

I just watched the last episode of Season 1 of ABC's TV Series Once Upon A Time. It's an American fantasy TV series about The Evil Queen bringing Fairy Tale Land to reality world, how are the characters going to remember who they were and get back to Fairy Tale Land?

Stars of Once Upon A Time.
In the TV Series, of course, Snow White and the Evil Queen was the foundation of the TV series, played by Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White/Mary Margaret) and Lana Parrilla (Evil Queen/Regina Mills). It's the same old same old battle between Snow White and the Evil Queen on who's the fairest of them all. Ginnifer Goodwin fitted the role exactly with her flawless beauty, so innocent, every Prince Charming would want to protect.

Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White/Mary Margaret)
Lana Parrilla, played Evil Queen very well, so could be sweet looking to make the King fall in love with her, yet manipulative and destructive like any angry Evil Queen should be. This duo team was the ideal Snow White team that reflected the original fairy tale to a 'T'. Their beauty are almost equivalent, which must have been a tough choice for the Magic Mirror.

Lana Parrilla (Evil Queen/Regina Mills)
This year is the year of Snow White, there's  2 other movies this year that revolves around these 2 charming lady characters - Mirror Mirror / Snow White and the Huntsman.

So many versions of Snow White, so many versions of the Evil Queen. Mirror Mirror saw through the Snow White fairy tale with beautiful bright colours with glowy filters with a comedic adaptation. Lily Collins fitted what I always thought Snow White would look like in real life. Her fair skin, youthful charisma and the dark long tresses made her look as though she stepped right out of the Disney cartoon version of Snow White.

Lily Collins as Snow White in Mirror, Mirror
However, for Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen, I wasn't too much of a fan. She's still that Pretty Woman in my mind and she doesn't seem to exude any evil-ness in the movie. But the gorgeous Eiko Ishioka gowns she donned on, was something I bet every lady drool for.

Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen in Mirror Mirror.
In Snow White and the Huntsman, we get the Twilight babe - Kristen Stewart as Snow White. She's a darker version of the usual sweet looking Snow White who sings and dance around in the movie. Her sullen and hardly smile expression seems to be the Snow White that was tortured and have gone through a lot of hardships. There's nothing sweet about her, she's like young Xena in the movie.

Kristen Stewart as Snow White in Snow White and the Huntsman.
Charlize Theron as Evil Queen in Snow White and the Huntsman.

Alot of the attention was drawn by Charlize Theron in the movie. She was as evil as can be, with her gorgeous black gowns of bugs and feathers, her flawless skin was something that beat Snow White down right from the beginning of the movie.

In my opinion, my favourite Snow White would be Lily Collins and for Evil Queen, of course I choose Charlize Theron. Guess it will be fun to see another version of Snow White acted by them. What about you? Who do you like?

Going on Vacation ~

Hi Huneybees,

By now, I would have already landed in Kuala Lumpur and beginning my shopping spree and food gorging. It's been awhile since I last took a break and I really really needed it, to readjust my lifestyle and hopefully timing. And hopefully baby making in the process? (*Hehehe, that's how Edward and Bella had baby right?)

I've been sleeping in the morning and everyday I only get 4 hours of sleep, as I have to work and blog. Keep supporting Huney'Z World and Colour Huney k?

I'll be back on 1st July and in the meantime, I've scheduled a couple of posts both on Huney'Z World and Colour Huney. So do check back and follow me on instagram ya? I've already gotten a local mobile line with data plan and I will be posting photos on the go!

Auf Wiedersehen, and be back soon!

[Movie Review] Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1

Hi Huneybees,

I was recently at the Twilight Breaking Dawn (Part 1) premiere, thanks to F*** Magazine. *SCREAM!* My hubby was "begging" me to bring down the volume when I first received the email of me winning the tickets, but like any Twilight fan, who can stop screaming?

Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) finally exchange wedding vows. During their honeymoon, the two consummate their love in an epic headboard-breaking sex scene. The next day, Edward feels bad for bruising Bella in the throes of passion, but gives in to her pleas for more because she is so horny. Then, the unimaginable happens — 14 days into their honeymoon, Bella realises she’s pregnant … with a super-strong demon baby that grows at an alarming rate, threatening to kill human Bella in the process. Edward goes back to being his tortured, brooding self. Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) is not a happy puppy, but stays loyal to Bella because there’s just something that ties him to her. Hmm.
Then, one random day, the baby breaks Bella’s spine, signalling it’s time for the bloody birth scene. And because this happens on such a random day, the house doctor (Edward’s father,Carlisle, played by Peter Facinelli) isn’t around to help deliver the baby, which leaves only Edward and Jacob in the makeshift delivery room with Bella. After a very violent and messy C-section, the baby, Renesmee, is born — with teeth and all — but Bella doesn’t survive. Edward’s sister Rosalie Hale (Nikki Reed) carries the half-human, half-vampire baby out of the room, as Edward injects his own venom into Bella, willing her body to accept it so she can be pale and sparkly like him. Meanwhile, Jacob gets all wolfy and storms off, with fierce intent, to kill the murderer of a baby. But the moment he sees Renesmee, his resolve crumbles into nothingness by some cosmic intervention. While Jacob is busy imprinting Renesmee, Bella’s transformation into a vampire begins.      --- Cosmopolitan Singapore

The original cast are all back for the movie and definitely there were more eye candy (I'm eyeing Seth, the youngest werewolf) this episode, but the most anticipated part of this movie is the wedding and sexual tension between Bella and Edward.

The wedding scene made everyone go "WOW!" in the cinema. It was grand, the ambiance was romantic and seriously, it made every single girl wana get married on the spot. (Hint: Guys, proposal time!) For me, it brought back sweet memories of my wedding and I kinda teared up myself. I'm such a girly when it comes to movie.

Bella's wedding dress is handmade. It took Carolina Herrera and four seamstresses six months to complete.
Everything was a fairytale in the beginning part of the movie and big Twilight fans who have read the book, would know the part that they consummated their wedding night was the Oooh La La time. I bet the Isle Esme (Casa Em Paraty) would be a popular tourist attraction after this movie. More about the place can be read here. http://curbed.com/archives/2011/11/17/heres-the-house-where-the-twilight-sex-scene-will-go-down.php

See how saucy it gets?
The second half of the movie would be a darker scenario compared to the wedding scene. I love the play on light and dark. So, that's also when audience will get to see more of heart throb Jacob (Taylor Lautner), coming into the scenes, to look after Bella.

Bella's pregnancy was taking a toll on her and I must say the technology to shrink Bella down to an anorexic looking girl was astonishing. In fact, it reminds me pretty much of Captain America. Same technology used?

I was tearing up and felt what she was going through. Not sure why, but I felt the pain of Bella, Edward, Jacob and everyone around her. I literally teared up till almost end of movie. Guess only big Twilight fans will get what I saying. For non-Twilight fans, they might say that I'm silly?

Overall, I would give the movie a 4 out of 5 popcorn (a little bias coz I'm Twilight fan?)
Hint: Don't leave the cinemas so quickly. There's a little scenario to watch behind....

And a note to the Twilight: Breaking Dawn movie goers, please at least read the books or watch the previous episodes before heading to the cinemas? Don't act ignorant and have your friend explaining who each character is to you can? Not only are you noisy and disrupting the movie, it makes you super bimbo or rather himbo too!

Here are some pictures of me at the premiere that day...

Our Singapore version Edward Cullen and Bella Swan.

Into the cinema we go!

Definitely watched it with my Edward...
A Volvo S60 was parked right at Shaw Lido's entrance. Exactly the same as the one in the movie!

Go catch the movie today! I know I will be watching at least another 2 times of it. :)
